About Arlene Silva
Arlene is the passion, energy, and driving force behind ContinuityWorks. She has been a Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) certified by Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) for 15 years and has over 27 years of organizational and program development, consulting and business continuity management experience.

Arlene’s mission is to serve people and businesses that want to help themselves.
In business continuity, she found the home she was seeking for her organizational development, program design, mentoring, and process improvement skills and experience. After 10+ years of leadership, mentoring, and consulting work with over 60 companies in a broad range of industries and types, from solopreneurs, mom & pops, and all-related owner / partner combinations, as well as Fortune 500 companies, Arlene came across an ad for a Director of Business Continuity Management position with a national insurance and financial management services company headquartered in Vermont.
The attack on the Twin Towers happened just 6 months after she completed training and applied for certification as a business continuity professional. With all her family still in New York City, it forever changed how she looked at her work and sense of purpose. For businesses, all businesses, 9/11 was a game changer; it exposed continuity management and planning as not an option but a responsibility that businesses have to their stakeholders, customers, vendors, and most importantly, to themselves.
Over the next 14 years, Arlene designed and implemented every component of the enterprise-wide BCM Program for a Fortune 1000 company, overseeing and training over 300 BC managers, planners, and support team members in the process. An arduous process that informed her stream-lined and time efficient approach to BCM Program design and implementation.
She decided that if she would start a business again, it would be one to help pave the way for others tasked with the same challenges.
